Desmond Patton
Research Assistant

Desmond Patton is a Research Assistant at the Consortium on Chicago School Research. He received a B.A. in Anthropology and Political Science, with honors, from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro, an M.S.W. from the University of Michigan and is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Social Welfare at the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. At CCSR he works on the Transition to High School project, a research project examining factors that shape students' academic behavioral engagement and course performance during their first year of high school. His particular interests are centered on the intersection of race and gender and their influence on academic behavior.
