Nicole O. Beechum
Nicole O. Beechum is a third year doctoral student at the School of Social Service Administration (SSA) at the University of Chicago. She received her AM from SSA in 2006 and a BA in Political Science from Mount Saint Mary’s College in Los Angeles in 2001. Nicole is currently working on various projects for the Postsecondary Transition Project at the Consortium on Chicago School Research at the University of Chicago, including research examining the International Baccalaureate (IB) program in Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and understanding college match among CPS graduates. Her research interests include the school-level factors that affect academic identities and academic outcomes for African-American adolescent males in large urban school districts.
