James Sebastian
James Sebastian is working with researchers at CCSR to examine the ways in which principals affect student achievement in their schools. The study will examine whether different practices are more effective in elementary versus high school.
James is an assistant professor in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He received his PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests include the study of school leadership, organizational theory and behavior, organizational learning, and urban school reform. Focusing primarily in quantitative methods, including the application of multilevel and latent variable models, he is also interested in the application of mixed-methods and qualitative comparative analysis in examining leadership and school organization.
