Carl Miller is the Desktop Support Manager at the UChicago Urban Education Institute, supporting the UChicago Consortium. In this role, he is responsible for the purchasing, imaging, deployment, and maintenance of over 200 active staff computers. Carl was the UChicago Consortium's Desktop Support Specialist for five years prior. Before coming to the UChicago Consortium and UEI, he worked as PC Systems Specialist for over two years in the Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago. Carl also worked as a professional audio engineer and acoustician for 18 years - designing and building recording studios, mixing studio sessions and live shows, and installing digital music systems. He fills his spare time creating sound installations as a maker, electrician, and welder.
