2007 AVID Reports for participating Chicago Public Schools
Since the fall of 2003, the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) has turned to Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) as a key piece of its high school reform strategy. In April 2007, the AVID student survey was administered in ninth- and-tenth grade AVID elective classrooms. We have prepared an individualized school report for each AVID school that participated in the 2007 AVID student survey. The report provides the responses of AVID students and teachers about their experiences in the AVID program in each school compared to other AVID schools in CPS. Each school can use this report to evaluate their progress and determine what specific areas of their AVID program are in need of improvement.

Getting Access to your School's AVID Report
To obtain a copy of your school's survey report through this website, you will need to use your school's unique web address, username, and password. These are available in the printed copy of your report in the box labeled "Download more copies of this report." Your principal can also contact CCSR by email to request your school's password.

The unique web address starts with the address of this webpage, http://ccsr.uchicago.edu/AVID/, followed by your school's unit number. Finally, your download address will end with the file name of your report, which takes the form avid[your Unit number].pdf.

So, as an example, if your school's unit number is 9999, your school's download address would be http://ccsr.uchicago.edu/AVID/9999/avid9999.pdf.

Once you type in your school's unique web address in your web browser, you will be asked to log in using your school's username and password. Once these are provided, your browser should immediately download your school's AVID report.

The individual school reports are confidential and access is limited to those who have permission from the school. The individual school reports can only be released with the written authorization of the principal. The authorization form can be downloaded here.

2007 City-wide AVID Survey Report
We also prepared a city-wide report that has the same content as the individual school reports, including school-by-school results, but schools will be assigned random IDs to preserve their confidentiality. The city-wide report can be downloaded here.
